Natasha is a Miami native and first generation Cuban-American who grew up exploring South Florida’s more natural areas. Attempting to turn a passion into a career, she recently received her master’s degree from Florida International University. Her work quantified suitable habitat for an important freshwater recreational species in Everglades National Park and identified management targets to safeguard refuge habitat in a potentially saltier future. She spends much of her time at BTT preparing for and conducting fieldwork along with engaging with guides and anglers to better protect flats species and all environments supporting their various life stages.
