Now available to order online!

Bonefish & Tarpon Trust’s Florida license plate is now available to order online or at your local DMV or tax collector’s office. Featuring the art of Derek DeYoung, these tarpon license plates are the perfect way to show your commitment to fisheries conservation anywhere the road takes you.

If you purchased a voucher, you can now redeem it for your plate. Thank you for helping us make these specialty plates happen. We appreciate your patience – and your support of BTT!

Florida drivers can order a BTT Specialty License Plate at any time. $25 from each plate sold goes to BTT to support our mission to conserve bonefish, tarpon, and permit – the species, their habitats, and the fisheries they support.

How do I get the license plate?

You can conveniently order your plate online from eTags: https://www.etags.com/app/fl

Or, pick up your BTT license plate at your local DMV office or tax collector’s office. Find your tax collector by following this link: https://floridataxcollectors.com/your-tax-collector/

Can I customize my BTT plate?

Yes! You have the option to customize your specialty plate.

You can do so online using eTags: https://www.etags.com/app/fl

Or you can follow the instructions here: https://www.flhsmv.gov/motor-vehicles-tags-titles/personalized-specialty-license-plates/specialty-license-plates/

If you already have a personalized tag number, you will be able to transfer it to a BTT specialty plate.

What do I do if I purchased a Pre-Sale Voucher?

Thank you for supporting Bonefish & Tarpon Trust! If you purchased a Pre-Sale Voucher, your BTT license plate is ready to be picked up at your local tag agency or you can order it online here.

You do not need to provide your paper voucher or voucher number to receive your plate, as your information is already in the database connected to your driver’s license number. The vehicle owner must match the voucher holder. You do not need to wait until your tag is due for renewal to order your BTT license plate.

If I purchased a voucher, does it cover the cost of my renewal?

No, the $33 voucher fee only covers the cost of the new specialty plate ($25 is donated to Bonefish & Tarpon Trust), the State of Florida processing fee ($5) and the Service/Branch fee ($3). You will still need to pay your normal registration fees as outlined by your local tax collector’s office. Please visit https://www.flhsmv.gov/fees/ for information on motor vehicle registration fees.

Can I purchase a plate before my tag is due for renewal?

The BTT specialty plate can be purchased at any time. You do not need to wait until your registration renewal date to order one.
