Once BTT meets its goal of 3,000 vouchers sold, the license plate will be manufactured, and you will be notified by the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) that your license plate is ready. The vehicle owner must match the voucher holder.

Right now, just hold onto your voucher. BTT will post an announcement on its website and social media accounts when it reaches the goal of 3,000 vouchers sold. Once the goal is met, the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) will begin production on the license plates, which takes approximately eight weeks. When completed, you will be notified by the FLHSMV that the license plate is ready. You can then redeem your voucher at your local tax collector’s office or license plate agencies. Yes, but please be aware that it may take an additional 10-12 weeks to receive a personalized plate.

Vouchers are not transferable and will be mailed to the purchaser’s current address on file with the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles database unless a different shipping address is noted.

A specialty license plate voucher cannot be transferred, replaced, refunded or exchanged unless the plate fails to meet the minimum pre-sale requirement. At the conclusion of the 24-month pre-sale period, if the minimum sales requirement has not been met, the purchaser of the specialty license plate voucher may apply for a refund using Form HSMV 83363 (https://www.flhsmv.gov/pdf/forms/83363.pdf).

Yes, but you will need to submit a separate order form for each one.

No, the voucher fee only covers the cost of the new specialty plate ($25 which is donated to Bonefish & Tarpon Trust), State of Florida processing fee ($5) and the Service/Branch fee ($3).

You will still need to pay your normal registration fees as outlined by your local tax collector’s office. Please visit https://www.flhsmv.gov/fees/ for information on motor vehicle registration fees.

If the plate fails to meet the minimum presale requirements, you may apply the presale voucher toward a different specialty license plate or apply for a refund for the specialty license plate fee only. Form HSMV 83363 is used to apply for a refund (https://www.flhsmv.gov/pdf/forms/83363.pdf).

All vouchers are sent to the purchasers, so if you wish the voucher to be a surprise, you can personally give it to the recipient.
