Nick Roberts grew up in North Carolina, earning a BA in English from Duke University, where he worked for Duke Magazine, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he served as Fiction Editor of the literary journal, Ecotone.
Before joining the Bonefish & Tarpon Trust staff in 2016, Nick worked as a fly-fishing guide and freelance writer based in Asheville, NC. He has written about fly-fishing, the environment, and travel for a number of magazines, including Outside, Garden & Gun, Field & Stream, Gray’s Sporting Journal, The Drake, Anglers Journal, Fly Rod & Reel, and American Angler. He has also written about conservation issues for Patagonia, Orvis, Simms, and the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership. His photography has appeared in Gray’s Sporting Journal, Outside online, Garden & Gun online, Field & Stream online, Anglers Journal, American Angler, and elsewhere.
Nick directs Bonefish & Tarpon Trust’s marketing, communications, and membership programs and serves as Editor of Bonefish & Tarpon Journal.
