Swains Cay Lodge Becomes BTT Silver Partner

Swains Cay Lodge on Andros Island, The Bahamas, has announced its support for Bonefish & Tarpon Trust as a Silver Partner.

“BTT is grateful to Swains Cay Lodge for its generous support of our science-based efforts to conserve The Bahamas’ iconic flats fishery,” said Jim McDuffie, BTT President and CEO. “Partnerships with lodges and guides are an important part of connecting conservation with the people who experience these fisheries firsthand and are stewards of the resource.”

Located on Mangrove Cay, Swains Cay Lodge is surrounded by some of The Bahamas’ most renowned bonefishing waters. The lodge offers anglers access to both the Middle and South Bights of Andros, with experienced local guides who know how to take advantage of changing wind and tide conditions.

“Swains Cay Lodge is proud to support Bonefish & Tarpon Trust and its vital work to protect the fisheries and habitats that are so important to The Bahamas and to destinations throughout the region,” said Cheryl Bastian, owner of Swains Cay Lodge. “Located on a pristine, gin-clear beach flat, we are fortunate to experience every day just how special—and how precious—these waters are. Bonefish, tarpon, permit, and the healthy ecosystems they depend upon are not only part of our natural heritage; they are an important part of our community, our way of life, and the experiences we are privileged to share with our guests.”

Andros is the largest island in The Bahamas and known for its expansive flats, mangrove habitats, tidal creeks, and surrounding marine environment. These habitats support a remarkable diversity of marine life and are particularly important to the bonefish fishery. Swains Cay’s location provides guests with an opportunity to experience this unique ecosystem both on and off the water. The beachfront lodge offers comfortable accommodations, a restaurant serving authentic Bahamian cuisine, and a variety of activities for anglers and non-anglers alike, including kayaking, snorkeling, biking, scuba diving, and eco-tours.

“Our support of BTT comes from a sincere desire to help protect this paradise that we call home,” said Bastian. “Through BTT’s research, education, and conservation efforts, we believe we can help ensure that these extraordinary fisheries and habitats remain healthy and abundant for generations of Bahamians, anglers, and nature lovers to come. For us, supporting BTT is about protecting what we love, preserving what makes Mangrove Cay so extraordinary, and doing our part to ensure it remains that way for generations.”

In addition to guided bonefishing, Swains Cay Lodge offers deep-sea, reef, and other fishing opportunities. Its location on Mangrove Cay provides anglers with access to a variety of fishing environments, while the lodge’s beachfront setting makes it an appealing destination for families, couples, and guests who simply want to experience the natural beauty of Andros.

As a Silver Partner, Swains Cay Lodge joins BTT’s community of businesses and organizations that are supporting the conservation of bonefish, tarpon, permit, and their vital habitats. To learn more about Swains Cay Lodge or plan a fishing or island getaway, visit: https://www.swainscaylodge.com.
