Position Description

The Membership & Development Manager is responsible for managing and growing BTT’s membership program and supporting BTT’s fundraising efforts, including membership campaigns and the production of fundraising materials. The position reports to the Director of Development, works closely with the Finance & Operations Manager, and oversees the Database & Development Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Membership & Marketing Manager is primarily responsible for managing and growing BTT’s membership program through the planning and execution of targeted member acquisition campaigns and member retention programs. S(he) is responsible for working with corporate partners to develop membership incentives and serves as the main point of contact for BTT members. Specifically, S(he) is responsible for:

  • planning and executing membership acquisition campaigns and renewal programs.
  • managing the membership database, generating membership reports, coordinating renewal mailings, and processing donations.
  • developing membership incentives and materials and ensuring the timely fulfillment of membership benefits.
  • supporting efforts to establish new partnerships to advance BTT’s marketing and membership objectives.
  • supporting the Director of Development by helping to produce marketing materials and by attending special events and industry shows.
  • overseeing the Database & Development Coordinator and working with the Director of Finance and Operations to ensure timely and accurate database entry.
  • serving as the Advertising Coordinator for the Bonefish & Tarpon Journal, which is published twice annually.

Qualifications

Requirements for the Membership and Development Manager position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two or more years relevant experience in membership, fundraising, marketing, public relations and/or communications.
  • Strong communications, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or other CRM software is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a small office environment and work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to travel on an occasional basis.
  • Demonstrated ability in using discretion where appropriate and maintaining confidentiality in all matters, especially pertaining to donors and their records.

 Location

The Membership and Development Manager is based in Coconut Grove, Florida.
